HIKING CAMPOUT    

TROOP HIKING CAMPOUT  JULY 5-7   AT  ______

We will depart from the church at 0:00 and travel to _____ for a  HIKING CAMPOUT

This will be a pure backpacking campout.  There will be no vehicles laden with patrol & chuck boxes.

Everything you will use will be carried on your backpack (NOT a daypack). Link

All meals, tools, pans, water, etc will be carried.

 

The troop will start at _______ and hike to our campsite   ___ miles away then make camp.

The next day we will break camp and hike _____ miles to the end of trail.

We should return to the church about ____pm on Sunday afternoon.

A stop at DQ on Sunday.

 

Cost  $15.00   :  some scouts will 'hike cook' for the troop (for merit badges)

  HIKE Equipment  

__ 1 Complete Scout Uniform CLASS A (Mandatory) uniform shirt, olive pants, red 73 neckerchief

(leave uniform shirt in the vehicle at trailhead)

__ FULL Backpack  (not a DAY pack)

__Tent   (1 orange tent, the parts can be spread amongst several hikers and sleep 4 / tent)

__1. First aid kit
__2. Flashlight
__3. Trail food
__4. Sunscreen
__5. Whistle
__6. Map and Compass
__7. Rain gear
__8. Pocket knife
__9. Matches or fire starters.
__10. Extra clothing.

__Clothes  (Under Armour or some type wiking shirt)

__Boots

__Water bottle  (filled with water)  

__Water PURIFICATION method (Life straw, filter, tablets, UV, etc)

__Sleeping bag

__Sleeping mat / pad

__Mess Kit - Personal Eating Utensils  (plate, cup, spoon / fork – or mess kit)

__Hygiene Kit (Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, hand sanitizer)

__Coat  

__Batteries

__Toilet Paper in a Ziplock bag

__Emergency kit (including a whistle, emergency blanket, etc)

__Wet Weather Protection Gear (Rain Jacket and Pants- pants are optional)
